This is really clever. 
I understand what you mean about the colours, but actually, the brown looks really sinuous and a little like slugs when they flatten and stretch themselves -
this is actually a compliment
- the 3D effect is totally amazing, not only does the triangle seem to curve over and under the circle, it also seems to curl under itself.
